How long does a gel manicure last at ColorLab?
A professionally applied gel manicure at ColorLab typically lasts 2 to 3 weeks without chipping. Our technicians use premium gel polish brands like DND, OPI, Kiara Sky, and Two Guys — applied with proper prep (cleaning, dehydrating, base coat) and cured fully under LED. For maximum wear, we recommend cuticle oil daily and gloves when cleaning. If anything chips within 7 days, our complimentary fix covers it.
What's the difference between Gel-X, Builder Gel, and Acrylic?
Gel-X uses soft gel pre-shaped tips bonded with gel — lightweight, natural-looking, soak-off removal. Best for length without damage.

Builder Gel (Hard Gel) is sculpted directly onto your natural nail or tip for extra strength — ideal if your nails are weak or break easily.

Acrylic is the classic strong extension but harsher on natural nails. ColorLab specializes in Gel-X and Builder Gel for healthier, longer-lasting results. Read our full guide →
Do I need to book ahead or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome, but we strongly recommend booking online through Fresha — especially for Gel-X, custom nail art, or weekend slots. Booking guarantees your preferred time and technician, and you can browse all our services with upfront pricing.
Is parking available near the salon?
Yes — there's street parking on South Western Ave and side streets nearby, plus paid lots within a 2-minute walk. We're located at 533 S Western Ave, Suite A in Koreatown, easily accessible from the 101 and 110 freeways. Most clients find parking within minutes.
Are you kid-friendly?
Absolutely! We offer dedicated kids manicures ($20 regular / $30 gel) and kids pedicures ($25 regular / $35 gel) for ages 12 & under. Our space is welcoming for parent-child appointments and birthday celebrations.
What discounts do you offer?
We have three active perks: 15% off your first visit (mention at booking), a $5 referral credit for you and your friend, and $5 off when paying with cash. These are stackable on most services. Gift cards are also available through Fresha.
How do I remove Gel-X or Builder Gel safely?
Never peel or pry off — that strips layers of your natural nail. Professional soak-off removal at ColorLab is $25 and includes filing, acetone wraps, gentle scraping, and a nourishing cuticle treatment. Add removal to any manicure for just $5 extra on gel polish.
What products and brands do you use?
We use premium professional brands trusted by top nail artists: Aprés Gel-X, DND, Trendy, Two Guys, Kiara Sky, and OPI. All tools are sanitized between clients and we follow strict hygiene protocols. Your nails are in safe hands.
Do you take group bookings or do birthday parties?
